我主要專注于利用穩定同位素地球化學來探究地球系統的多個不同的方面——尤其渴望對于在地質學、生物學及全球/區域氣候變化相互關聯及作用的領域展開探索。我主要的研究經曆在于創建、發展新興的高精度穩定同位素測試方法(如:三氧同位素、團簇同位素)并将其應用于不同的地球體系中,以同位素的分餾或團簇現象的形成和消褪來制約地球物質轉化過程中的化學熱動力學平衡或擾動狀态,從而見微知著,诠釋全球的物質循環及環境變化。具體研究方向包括:(1)C-H-O-S同位素體系研究俯沖帶流體活動及相關元素分異和深部物質循環。(2)15N15N團簇同位素示蹤行星大氣圈的演化。(3)三氧同位素對于全球水汽循環及局域古濕度古水文的制約。(4)碳酸鹽13C18O團簇同位素用于古氣候中的測溫。(5)13C-D, D-D雙團簇同位素體系示蹤甲烷成因。
